New South Wales records 787 cases, 12 deaths
Premier Gladys Berejiklian says New South Wales has recorded 787 cases of community transmission to 8pm last night. Ms Berejiklian said she was very pleased the state crossed the 85 per cent first vaccine dose threshold. "We are looking forward obviously to seeing that number continue. So can I please encourage everybody in New South Wales to come forward and get vaccinated if you haven't already done so," she said at a media conference on Monday. "Our double dose has been confirmed now at 60 per cent. We are literally just a few weeks away from having that 70 per cent double dose and 12 to 15-year-olds already 40 per cent have received their first dose – which is fantastic." Ms Berejiklian also said tragically, the state recorded 12 COVID-related deaths.
