Queensland records two new COVID cases
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says there has been two locally acquired cases of COVID-19 reported overnight. She said there was an additional COVID-19 case which was in hotel quarantine. Ms Palaszczuk said one case was linked to the aviation cluster and spent four days on the southern end Gold Coast and urged residents in the area to get tested if they have symptoms. She said the other case was acquired from interstate and was in the Queensland community for a single day. Ms Palaszczuk said “the fundamental reason” a lockdown had not been declared was because there was no unlinked community transmission. “If we do see any unlinked community transmission, I’m quite sure that Dr (Jeannette) Young will not hesitate to recommend a lockdown,” she said.
