State leaders will ‘lose the election’ if they keep people locked down: Barnaby Joyce

If you hang onto the concept that locking people down is a great idea you're going to lose the election no matter which state you are, says Acting Prime Minister and Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce. "The only feedback I'm getting now, maybe it was different half a year to a year ago, is that people are over this," Mr Joyce told Sky News Australia. Mr Joyce said getting locked down in the regions such as where he lives was not too bad because of the vast open space of land available. "But for people locked in a flat with screaming kids, people locked up in a house – they're just over this, they want to get on with their lives," he said. "I say to the states let's just get on with it."
