Omicron variant to not impact Queensland’s border plan
Queensland authorities say the emergence of the new Omicron variant will not impact the state's reopening plan at this stage, despite concerns over its transmissibility. The state is on track to reopen its borders to the fully vaccinated on December 17 - however, there are fresh fears the timeline could be delayed after New South Wales detected two cases of the new variant.
