Shoppers to spend $60bn this Christmas
As we head into the final week of retail trade before Christmas, data shows spending is up in 2021 compared to previous years. Mirvac Retail General Manager Kelly Miller says retailers are thrilled to be open and welcoming customers. "The last couple of weeks, we've seen a return to 2019 spending and on people's wishlists, they're saying that fashion is high on rotation, technology, and also family feasting." Ms Miller told Sky News Australia. She said retailers are “well-equipped” to be COVID-safe during the final week of Christmas shopping. "We've got loads of protocols in place, we’ve worked really closely with the state government to be able to prepare and every time there's a change we can respond and adapt to that."
