Academy apologises to actress 50 years after Oscars speech
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has apologised to an actress for the abuse she suffered at the 1973 Oscars ceremony, almost 50 years after the incident. Sacheen Littlefeather received an award on actor Marlon Brando's behalf when she was heckled and booed while speaking out against the depiction of Native Americans in films.
