Activists deface iconic painting in Western Australia

One of Australia’s most famous paintings has been defaced in Western Australia by climate activists protesting Woodside Energy. Frederick McCubbin’s Down on His Luck painting was unharmed with a cover of acrylic protective film. It has been part of the collection since 1896 and is considered one of the most important works at the gallery.
