Review into Medicare shows up to $3b lost from billing errors

A review of the Medicare system has shown up to $3 billion has been lost from billing errors. The report by health economist Pradeep Philip found the Medicare Benefits Schedule which contains around 6,000 items, are not fit for purpose as the system struggles to keep up with demand for additional care requirements.
