New rules for telehealth companies under new reforms
Doctors will be banned from prescribing drugs to patients they have not spoken to under new telehealth reforms. The Medical Board will this week release new rules for telehealth companies, who often prescribe medicine through online questionnaires rather than face-to-face consultations. Some companies are being investigated for not recognising adverse drug reactions in their patients or handing out prescriptions over an extended period of time without real-time appointments.
