Almost 200,000 Australians are missing out on millions of dollars in unclaimed Medicare benefits. People are not updating their details - which is resulting in refunds and payments not being processed. Our phone numbers and bank account details change constantly, but failing to update them could cost you hundreds of unpaid government funds. It's been revealed that Services Australia is sitting on more than $220 million in Medicare benefits going unpaid due to out-of-date details on all these Medicare and myGov accounts. The agency says the pool of money is growing because people aren't updating their details, meaning refunds and payments can't be processed.
