Children with ‘minor disabilities’ set to be taken off NDIS scheme

Some children are set to be taken off the NDIS scheme who are there for what are regarded as “more minor disabilities”, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. The government is set to announce its changes to the NDIS at the national cabinet meeting this Wednesday in a bid to curb the increases in costs. “The feds want the states to pick up more of the tab on the NDIS and the states are seeking to leverage guarantees on the GST and hospital funding in return,” Mr Clennell said. “From the Commonwealth’s point of view, it believes it has already given the states plenty.” He said the Commonwealth is hopeful of a deal ahead of talks which will begin with the premiers’ dinner at the Lodge on Tuesday.
